Command and Conquer, or C& C as it is also known, is a real time strategy game franchise. The first Command and Conquer game released by Westwood, the company that made the game, was released in 1995. It was the first game from the Tiberian series. There are three main types of Command and Conquer games: Tiberian series, Red Alert series and Generals series.

The Tiberian series follows a futuristic war between the two factions: GDI and NOD. It is a series based on numerous political implications, and lots of twists. The two factions are at war for tiberium, a new source of fuel. The Global Defense Initiative wants to stop the development of the fuel, as it is very hazardous, whereas the Brotherhood of NOD wants to enhance its development.

Another Command and Conquer series is the Red Alert one. The first game was released in 1996, and the setting of the game is in an alternate universe. In this game, Hitler is killed with Einstein’s aid, who managed to find a way of traveling back in time. World War 2, or at least the war we know was thus prevented, but the problem is that because of Hitler’s elimination, Stalin invades most of the world. The player can control various countries, such as U.S.A, France, Iran, Russia, Germany, and others.

The third series of the game is the Generals one. The first Generals game was released in 2003, and it is set in the present days. The user can control three factions: GLI (Global Liberation Army), China, and U.S.A. An expansion was released two years later, called Command and Conquer Generals: Zero Hour. Both games received high scores. These games can be downloaded via steam or from the official Command and Conquer website. They are very interesting to play.
