Starcraft 2 Review

The reviews for StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty are more than positive. The science fiction video game was designated the best PC Game of the last year and his availability set the record for the best selling strategy game of all times. StarCraft II was especially admired for the fashionable RTS game play, but also for the fresh appearances and enhanced story. The magazine Games Radar said that the second episode feels like the initial StarCraft, but it is better. Also, NzGamer thought that StarCraft II was the greatest RTS game out in years and probably the best game for PC. Another specialized magazine embraced the superior multiplayer matchmaking service.

Ars Technica gave StarCraft a Buy decision and admired the single player campaign. They also discovered two problems, the lack of LAN play and the choice to divide the game in regions. They felt that this might make things hard for the players with international friends. In another article, Ars Tehnica supported the developer, Blizzard Entertainment, against the dissatisfaction that StarCraft is not a complete game since only the Terran campaign was available.

Jim Raynor and Sarah Kerrigan’s reviews

Jim Raynor was well accepted by fans and critics. A StarCraft review for a magazine affirmed that the representation of characters was so excellent that they seemed extremely real. A fan’s survey designated Jim Raynor as one of gaming’s top ten principal male character, praying Raynor’s toughness in the face of constant failure, his humanity, but also his evolution. Also, Sarah Kerrigan’s character was accepted in a positive way. At the beginning of August, the developer announced that StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty sold approximately one million units international in just 24 hours of availability. Few days later, when Blizzard began advertising StarCraft II as a digital download, approximately 500,000 supplementary units of the science fiction video game were sold. So, with almost 1.5 million units sold globally, StarCraft II becomes the fastest-selling strategy video game of all times. After only a month, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty sold approximately 3 million copies. Also, the game was seriously pirated. The fans downloaded more than two million copies. After launching StarCraft II, Blizzard Entertainment set free the new version of Battle.net, the online gaming service. Battle.net was changed entirely, receiving more than a few improvements and fresh appearances, such as leagues and ladders, cloud file storage, voice communication, stat-tracking, achievements and other.11
